Baritone John Castillo is absolutely thrilled to return to perform once again with one of his favorite orchestras, the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra.

John is fresh from his debut in a full time opera, Omar Najmi's "En la ardiente Oscuridad" in which he played Carlos, one of the leading roles to great acclaim.

John has been featured as a soloist with the Boston Civic Orchestra. He sang the National Anthem in 2004 at Fenway Park for the Red Sox home opener.

In years past, John performed a moving duet, "Motherland", with singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant accompanied by Livingston Taylor on guitar and most recently performed at both Boston Symphony and NEC's Jordan Hall.

In addition to Opera, John enjoys singing Jazz, Broadway, Contemporary and Liturgical music. He sings in nine different languages

When he's not singing, John enjoys playing the piano, accordion and is an accomplished drummer.
