Max Hobart, Music Director and
Conductor of the Wellesley Symphony
Orchestra (WSO) since 1993, is
stepping down at the end of the 2020-2021 season. The 2020-2021 concert season will be his last after 27 transformative years at the helm. We are grateful for Max’s music direction and the many wonderful concerts and musical experiences we have had together. At some time in the near future, we will be celebrating and honoring Max’s long tenure with the WSO.

We have a team of orchestra, community, and WSO board members who are engaging in a search for a new Music Director who will begin in the 2022-2023 season.
